Meet Chef Sagar. The man behind Everest Cuisine shrugged without apology that he had more than 25 years in the business, yet looking at his expertise on every dish prepared for him, I can proclaim that he is an artist of his craft. This graduate in Culinary Arts comes from Nepal and conducts food shows all over the world.

It is a love for food experience and adventure that catapulted the chef through Asian countries such as Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, India, and now in the USA. Such experiences have, over time, affected his cooking skills and techniques that have made him what he is today-over time being the gifted chef he is.

Chef Sagar heads Everest Cuisine, where creative fusions mash traditional Nepalese flavors with international influences.

Ever a foodie who believes that food needs to be an adventure in the discovery of ingredients, techniques, and perhaps flavor anew, Chef Sagar is all about forgotten ingredients and revived traditional recipes, new flavors, and sundry visual creations for the delight of customers. Under his stewardship, the menu of Everest Cuisine transformed into a collage-like mishmash of Nepalese, Indian, Southeast Asian, Latin, and Californian elements.

All his career was spent in the Bay Area, Singapore’s best restaurants and hotels. He also won several awards for different dishes he prepared besides his experiences as an executive chef in Villabali, Singapore, and Indreni Foodland, Kathmandu, Nepal.

Executive Chef Sagar’s eclectic style has seeped slowly into Bay Area restaurants in the last year of his transition to San Francisco in 2015. Here at Everest Cuisine, he cheers on the mingling of traditional Nepalese and Indian flavors with modern techniques.
